Lab Equipment

This machine will allow us to do more accurate arsenic tests in our lab, so that we don't have to rely so heavily on external laboratories.

This includes:

• Pug mill
  A ceramic pug mill will improve our current ceramic filter production by making it possible to evenly mix sawdust, clay, and water in an accurate and efficient way. With this improvement of our ceramic filter production we will be able to make our ceramic filter into a commercially-viable viable product that is accessible to everybody.
• Motorized mixer
• Pneumatic press
• Molds
• Kiln

K-type thermocouple dataloggers will make it possible to very accurately measure temperature. We use these dataloggers for different purposes, both in our ceramic filter production and in our ongoing research.

A jaw crusher will help us grind and crush different materials used in our research. It will primarily be used to crush bone char to pack into filters. It will also be used to crush bones to make media that removes fluoride. Finally, it will also be used to crush fired clay to mix back into the ceramic filters.

Office Equipment

More interns and volunteers are joining our team to help with experiments, pilots, and other projects. So, we are looking for a larger office that can accommodate a bigger lab and more work spaces. Please contact us for more details about what our needs are. Also see the “Garden shed” item.

A short-term solution to creating more space (see the “Office space” item) would be to create storage space in our current backyard. To make this happen we would like to build a garden shed to ensure anything stored outside will stay dry during the rainy season.

We are currently increasing the size of our team and therefore also including more desk spaces in our current offices. To make working in our own offices more comfortable for our staff members, we are looking for some new office chairs.

Filing cabinets will help us to organize all of our educational materials, promotional materials, and organizational documents.

Our communication team is constantly developing educational and promotional materials. It will help the communications team to have a large computer monitor or flat-screen TV, to make the development and review of these materials easier and more efficient.

Whiteboards are a great tool for creative thinking in groups, and so they’re very useful to us. The size of the board doesn't matter - we are happy with any kind of whiteboard you can offer us!
